My friend, Lara made a dark grey scarf like this and I fell in love.
Hers was 8ft long and 6in wide.
1. Use 5/8 of a yard of any color of ruffle fabric, I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon and it was about $4.00. Fold in half long ways and cut so you have two pieces that are the same length.
2. Then place fabric on top of each other with both pieces of fabric faces in so ruffles are touching each other. You will then make a straight stitch to connect these two pieces at one end, so it makes it longer. Not wider.
4. Your last step you will finish the ends. Sew a stitch across the ends of the scarf. I didn't do any tucking in, I liked how it looked with the ruffles hanging on the ends.
Here is your finished product. Mine was 10ft long and 6in wide. If you want to make it shorter just cut off some of the length and sew the end off.

This looks so nice. I fascinated with scarves. if only i wasn't living in a tropical country i would have donned one everyday.
