Some New Jewelry Creations

K
This light blue/teal necklace is made from head pins and glass beads.  These are somewhat time consuming but I think they turn out great.

For these super light dangle earrings I used beading wire and a crimp bead at top to secure these.  They turn out to be a fun teardrop shape.

These next two pair of earrings I have had some fun with pendants that I have used two of added them onto ear wires and made a pair of earrings.  These are some of the easiest earrings to make.

Wire Inspired Earrings and Necklace

miksjewelryshop.etsy.com

Here is my small collection of my wire inspired earrings and necklaces.  I used a 20 gauge wire which is pliable enough to be wrapped and tucked to cover these earrings and necklaces.  The turquoise ones, the wire is thinner. I'm not quite sure what size but they were cut pieces about 6in and then wrapped in different sections on the stone.  I also used some permanent glue to help hold these pieces in place.
I needed more of the blue stones and they had run out where I normally had picked them up. I happened to be out of town for the week and found the stones I needed. I was so excited, I got enough for a few more pairs of earrings and am able to finally keep some for myself. :)

The purple is my favorite!

Pink Flower Necklace

I used three different strands of coordinating beads and hooked them all through the metal flower pendant.  I used seed beads in between each of the larger beads.  That was the hardest part, but I loved how it turned out.

Purple Passion Necklace

Handmade Purple Necklace
I was inspired to make this necklace from a friends necklace.  There are 4 different types of beads 2 Metallic and 2 Matte colors.  I used eye pins to hook the beads onto a wire chain.  It is about 19 inches long and will add some sparkle to any outfit.  This is one of my favorites taking only a couple hours to make, of course in between other duties of a mother.  I hope this can inspire you too. miksjewelryshop.etsy.com

Hoop Earrings

I recently saw a post for this done by someone else as a copy from Anthropolgie.  They are wrapped with wire and beads.  They were a little tricky to get started but ended up I thought looking pretty good.  Thanks pinner for the inspiration! I would love to make these in all sorts of fun colors.  If you'd like a pair I will be selling them for $8.00 and if requested, any color you'd like. Any takers?  What do you think?

Yarn Tape Scarf

Here is a really fun scarf that is made out of yarn tape.  I saw the pattern on the roll of yarn and had to try it.  It was so easy and so cute and fun.  For Christmas one year I made a bunch and gave them as gifts for my family and friends.  They had red, blue, purple, pink and brown colors.  I don't know if they sell the yarn tape anymore but it would be worth finding again.  I used two rolls of yarn and super skinny knitting needles, the yarn is super soft, so comfortable to wear.

Canvas Bags

Here are my church bags I haul all my books and smaller things in.  I copied the pattern from and older canvas bag that was just the right size.  The brown was my first attempt, I didn't finish the inside and it has held up fine.  After a while I wanted a change so I made the black one.  For this one I had my new serger and was able to do the inside a little bit cleaner.  They are great bags and easy to make.

Buttoned Kitchen Towels

I folded over a normal size kitchen towel, just in half and added a little more length on the front side of the towel and added a big button.  You do have to cut a hole for the button and do a button stitch around the whole to keep it from fraying apart. This has helped me keep the towels from ended up all over my floor or kitchen counters.  Mine is not super professional looking but it does the job.
